Central Bank Instructs Commercial Banks to Thoroughly Check Banknotes Before Depositing

The Governor of the Central Bank of Sudan, Buraai Siddiq, has underlined the need for a thorough examination of all banknotes arriving to commercial banks before sending them to the Central Bank of Sudan.
During an inspection tour in a number of banks operating in the Red Sea State and having a firsthand information about the banknote replacement progress, Saturday, the Governor of the Central Bank has stressed the importance of using counterfeiting and forgery detection devices when receiving the old banknotes to be replaced.
Siddiq underlined that it was imperative the bank managers at the leadership levels be present in bank buildings and that they should follow up following up on the exchange process and be able to resolve any challenge facing people engaged in the process.
He directed that the general managers of banks should mobilize all their workforce to participate in the ongoing operations.
