Cabinet Forms Committee to Regulate Quality of Exported Gold

The Council of Ministers held its regular meeting in Khartoum today, chaired by Prime Minister Professor Kamil Idris.

Minister of Culture, Information and Tourism Khalid Al-Aiser, in a press statement, said the Council of Ministers began its session by discussing the economic situation. In this regard, it heard a briefing from Minister of Justice Dr. Abdullah Mohammed Darf on the decisions and measures taken by the government to regulate prices and the exchange rate and stabilize the national currency.

Al-Aiser said the Council of Ministers discussed gold export policies and directed the formation of a committee to coordinate among the relevant authorities and harmonize financial policies and procedures in order to regulate the quality of gold export services in Sudan.

The Minister of Culture and Information noted that the meeting reviewed the work of the National Committee for Economic Management and affirmed the need for the committee to continue its work to improve the economic situation. He added that the meeting also discussed the policy governing the importation of used cars and stressed the need to take decisive decisions regarding it.

The Council of Ministers also reviewed a report on the performance of the 2025-2026 summer agricultural season, addressing the current field situation of the agricultural season and ways to support farmers.

The Minister of Culture and Information explained that the Council of Ministers approved the Mineral Resources Act (Amendment) 2026, noting that the meeting reviewed the country’s petroleum products situation and welcomed assurances from the Minister of Energy that additional supplies would become available in the coming hours.
