Burhan: We Will Not Allow Tragedies Recur

The Chairman of the Transitional Sovereign Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, has offered his condolences on Saturday to the families of the victims of the boat incident in the Deim al-Quray – Tayba al-Khawad area of River Nile State, which claimed the lives of at least 21 people.
In an emotionally charged address, the Chairman of the Sovereign Council expressed his full solidarity with the families of the victims in this profound tragedy that has deeply affected the entire Sudanese people, saying, “This is God’s will, and all things are predestined.” He also affirmed the government’s determination to address all the challenges facing the region and its people.
Burhan stressed the importance of learning from this tragedy, stating, “We do not want these tragedies to be repeated, and there are human errors that we will work to address.” He indicated the state’s commitment to providing the necessary facilities and ensuring the availability of agricultural production resources and basic services for citizens.
Al-Burhan also praised the sacrifices of the Sudanese people, commending the genuine national unity demonstrated in the Al-Quray and Tayba Al-Khawad regions. He concluded by emphasizing that national unity is the country’s safeguard and the fundamental pillar from which Sudan will move towards achieving victory, sustainable development, and comprehensive stability.
