Aqar: We Will Focus on Reconciliation and Rebuilding the Sudanese Identity After the War

Khartoum – Sudnhorizon
Deputy Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Malik Aqar Eir, inspected the progress of work at the sewage treatment plant in Khartoum State, the Al-Muqrin water station, Wad Al-Bashir power station, and the premises of the Transitional Legislative Council, all of which had suffered systematic destruction at the hands of the rebel Rapid Support Forces militia.
As part of his inspection tour of service institutions in Khartoum State, he also met with the leadership of the Medical Corps and the management of Aliaa Hospital, where he was briefed on arrangements to revitalise the health sector.
In a meeting with the Minister of Interior, Lieutenant General Police Babiker Samra, the Deputy Chairman was informed of the security and criminal situation in the state and the police force’s strategy to enforce security, stability, and the authority of the state.
During his meeting with community leaders in Khartoum State, alongside a group of poets, artists, and actors — notably Abdel Qader Salem and Al-Nour Al-Jilani — Aqar praised the resilience of the artistic community, their support for the armed forces, and their contribution to mending the social fabric and enriching Sudanese cultural life.
He affirmed that once the war ends, the state will devote itself to community reconciliations and the rebuilding of Sudanese identity in order to safeguard the country’s unity, progress, and prosperity.
At the outset of his tour, the Deputy Chairman of the Sovereignty Council met with the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, General Mohamed Othman Al-Hussein, to discuss several issues relating to the national security situation.
His visit also included stops at the General Command of the Armed Forces, the Martyrs’ Cemetery, and a number of strategic facilities and sites, including the bridges linking the capital’s districts.
