Aqar Holds Talks in Juba on Bilateral Relations and Developments in Sudan

Juba – Sudanhorizon
On Monday, the Deputy Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council Malik Aqar held talks in Juba, the capital of South Sudan, focusing on bilateral relations and ways to enhance joint cooperation.
Aqar met with President Salva Kiir Mayardit, and the two discussed the latest developments and political and military situations in Sudan, as well as the humanitarian situation and the siege of El Fasher city.
Aqar said he briefed President Salva Kiir on the significant progress made by the Sudanese Armed Forces and their continued efforts to eradicate the rebel militia.
He added that the meeting also addressed Sudan’s stance, along with that of international and regional organizations, rejecting the formation of what is being called the “parallel government” by the Rapid Support Forces militia and their political allies.
The Deputy Chairman of the Sovereignty Council stated that the meeting discussed the activation of the work of joint ministerial committees between the two countries, particularly the political and security committees, as well as issues of concern to the citizens of both nations — especially refugee issues caused by the war. He noted that he extended an invitation to President Salva Kiir to visit Sudan.
Salva Kiir expressed his agreement, with arrangements to be made later through diplomatic channels.
The President of the Republic of South Sudan affirmed his country’s keenness to support stability in Sudan and to continue cooperation between the two nations.
Additionally, the Deputy Chairman of the Sovereignty Council met with his counterpart, Paul Mill, where discussions touched on issues of mutual interest, joint economic matters, and several other topics.
