Animal Resources Minister Announces Plan to Establish 10 Modern Slaughterhouses

The Minister of Animal Resources and Fisheries, Professor Ahmed Al-Tijani Al-Mansouri, revealed arrangements to attract investors from Gulf countries to form partnerships with the Sudanese private sector by injecting capital to implement projects in the field of integrated veterinary services, aimed at advancing the livestock sector to increase production and productivity, achieve self-sufficiency, and boost exports.

During a meeting held at his office on Sunday at the ministry’s headquarters in Red Sea State, attended by a number of Sudanese university professors, national organizations, and private sector representatives, the minister announced his ministry’s plan to establish ten modern slaughterhouses in line with international standards.

The meeting discussed the visions of university professors on developing the livestock and fisheries sector through the implementation of the ministry’s strategy in both the short and long term. The minister praised their role and interest in developing the sector, particularly their support for small breeders and producers and their contributions to community service.

For their part, the attending university professors, national organizations, and private sector representatives affirmed their full readiness to cooperate with the ministry to implement its plan, with the aim of supplying the state treasury with foreign currency and achieving the desired objectives.
