Ambassador Adawi: Egypt Will Expedite Residency Procedures for Sudanese

Sudan’s Ambassador to Cairo, Imad Adawi, has revealed that the Egyptian authorities have responded to a package of demands submitted by the Supreme Council of the Sudanese Community in Egypt to ease the difficulties facing Sudanese in Egypt.
Adawi conveyed to a delegation from the Executive Office of the Sudanese Community Council, headed by Ahmed Awad, during a joint meeting held today, the response to the demands submitted by the Supreme Council of the Sudanese Community.
These demands included the imminent issuance of a decision to issue residency permits within two weeks from the date of receipt, allowing registration in Egyptian schools before issuing residency letters, and issuing security approvals within a period not exceeding three days after fulfilling the requirements of the host country’s security institutions.
Adawi called on the Sudanese Community Office to raise community awareness of the need to adhere to the laws and regulations of the host country and to ensure that demands do not exceed those set by the country’s laws and customs.
The Council also called for joint cooperation in regulating and activating Sudan House, to organize events, particularly those related to addressing negative conducts and attitudes and building community capacity.
