Port Sudan – Sudanhorizon
The Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, on Wednesday, directed that no Sudanese citizen be deprived of obtaining identification documents, including those facing criminal cases.
Speaking during the inauguration of the “Lieutenant General Police Legal Expert Khaled Hassan Mohi El-Din” Center for issuing identification documents, he stressed the need to facilitate procedures and ensure the issuance of all identification documents to citizens.
He added: “No Sudanese citizen should be deprived of obtaining their identification documents, even if they have legal cases. These are rights,” expressing his appreciation for the opening of this facility.
Political leaders within the “Somoud” Alliance and journalists have complained about their inability to renew travel documents at Sudanese embassies in several capitals, citing refusals by officials on the grounds that they are facing criminal complaints.
The Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council extended his congratulations to all members of the police forces across the country on the occasion of the 71st anniversary of the Sudanese Police, praising their national role in maintaining security and stability.
Al-Burhan also expressed his thanks and appreciation to the State of Qatar, its Emir, government, and people, for their continued support for Sudan and their valued contribution to the successful establishment of the center.
