Al-Burhan Dismisses Second Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Sudan

The Chairman of Sudan’s Transitional Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, has issued a decision relieving Mohamed Othman Ahmed Mohamed Khair from his position as Second Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Sudan.

Mohamed Khair was appointed to the post in August 2024, following a decision to fill the long-vacant position that had remained unoccupied since the outbreak of the war on April 15, 2023.

Throughout his career at the Central Bank, Khair held several key positions, including Director of the General Administration for Policies, Research, and Statistics, Director of Human Resources, and most recently, Director of the Financial Markets Administration.
