Al-Burhan Calls Salva Kiir to Discuss Developments in Both Countries

The Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, held a telephone conversation on Thursday with the President of South Sudan, Salva Kiir Mayardit. During the call, Al-Burhan inquired about the situation in South Sudan in light of the recent events in Nasir and their repercussions in Juba, expressing his wishes for greater security and stability for the people of South Sudan.
A press release issued by the Sovereignty Council’s media office stated that Al-Burhan reaffirmed Sudan’s solidarity—both at the governmental and popular levels—with South Sudan in its pursuit of peace and stability. He also highlighted the deep-rooted ties between the two nations, underscoring their shared destiny.
Furthermore, the Chairman of the Sovereignty Council briefed President Salva Kiir on the latest developments in Sudan, particularly following the recent victories of the armed forces across various fronts in the “Battle of Dignity” and the expulsion of the rebel Rapid Support Forces militia from Khartoum.
