Agar: Sudan Ready to Cooperate with the UN and its Mechanisms

The Vice Chair of the Sovereign Council, Malik Agar, expressed the government’s appreciation for the United Nations’ interest in Sudanese developments and its continued support for country during this critical period.

On Friday evening, Agar debriefed the Personal Envoy of the UN Secretary-General to Sudan, Pekka Hennisto, on the current situation in the country. He outlined the government’s efforts and its strategy to enhance opportunities for peace and stability, thereby fulfilling the Sudanese people’s aspirations for security and development.

Agar affirmed the Sudanese government’s full readiness to cooperate with UN agencies and to develop joint work across various humanitarian and development sectors, contributing to the peace process and achieving sustainable stability in the country.
