Agar: Efforts Underway to Neutralise Influential States and Contacts with Kenya and Colombia
Port Sudan – Sudanhorizon
Deputy Chairman of the Sovereignty Council, Malik Agar, expressed confidence in the victory of the Sudanese Armed Forces, asserting that the army “will not be defeated”.
In a televised interview, Agar called on all those capable of taking up arms in mobilisation efforts to defend their areas, urging people from all fields to contribute to the defence and protection of Sudan.
He stressed that the Armed Forces do not seek to remain in power, saying their current duty is to end the war, manage a political process, and ultimately hand power over to the Sudanese people through elections.
Agar stated that the war in Sudan does not affect Sudan alone, but has consequences for Africa as a whole. He explained that the ambitions targeting Sudan also threaten many countries, and that what affects Sudan will inevitably affect Africa, underscoring the importance of confronting such threats to safeguard Sudan and the Horn of Africa.
Regarding states supporting the terrorist militia, he said some countries are directly involved, while others are implicated in different ways, in addition to certain institutions. He referred to countries through which weapons and mercenaries pass, and whose airports are being exploited, highlighting the need to neutralise such states and alert them.
He added that Sudan has taken legal measures against the United Arab Emirates, as it is among the countries providing declared support, affirming that work is also underway to neutralise the positions of other influential states.
Agar pointed to steps Sudan has taken in its communication with Colombia regarding the issue of mercenaries, and noted his engagement with Kenya—including correspondence with the Kenyan president and parliament—within efforts to address these matters.
He stressed that the Armed Forces will prevail and that reconstruction will spread across the country, creating an opportunity to end the war, rebuild the state, and achieve justice.
Agar stated that there is currently no party with whom negotiations can be held, noting that the Rapid Support Militia’s leadership does not control the war due to the involvement of many countries and groups, including the UAE and its mercenaries.
Regarding the various initiatives proposed by IGAD, the African Union, and other platforms calling for an end to the war, Agar said Sudan has the right to study these initiatives and respond to them. He emphasised that any initiative that does not align with Sudan’s national security and its territorial and societal unity cannot be accepted.
