Advisors to RSF Leaders Arrive in Port Sudan

Port Sudan – Sudanhorizon – Talal Ismail

For the first time since the outbreak of war in Sudan, advisors to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have arrived in Port Sudan, in the country’s east.
In a press conference on Saturday, Abdul Qader Ibrahim, the RSF’s advisor on fronts, organisations, and Eastern Sudan affairs, stated, “We have made the patriotic decision to return to the homeland and break away from the RSF institution.”
Abdul Qader revealed that three RSF advisors had arrived recently as part of ongoing contacts and efforts led by national figures and committees.
He emphasised that, before the war erupted, they had worked to prevent it through mediatory efforts between the Sudanese army and the RSF. He attributed the cause of the conflict to the personal ambitions and greed of the RSF leadership.
Abdul Qader further asserted that the RSF leadership had previously decided to exclude the Forces of Freedom and Change (Central Council faction) from power by staging a sit-in in front of the Presidential Palace before Sovereignty Council Chairman Abdel Fattah al-Burhan’s October 25 decisions.
Among the prominent advisors returning to Port Sudan are Abdul Qader Ibrahim, Mohamed Abdullah Wad Abok (advisor to the RSF leader), and several members of the RSF advisory council.
