How do you view the visit of Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed to Port Sudan?
– Hello to you and to all readers. The visit of the Ethiopian Prime Minister to Port Sudan is a surprising visit to reality, and this visit was certainly preceded by work, and it is not a mere coincidence as others expect. In previous periods, the Ethiopian Prime Minister had a completely different opinion, and he could have made statements known to everyone that he The government in Port Sudan is not recognized, but changes have occurred in the regional and international scene, and the war may now, after more than a year and a half, go to its end, but it is better late than never, as his coming now is a new opening for Sudan and a new opening for Ethiopia.
Ethiopia is a neighboring country, and the issue requires good neighborly relations and the exchange of common interests. In the past period, the two countries were harmed, the Ethiopian people were harmed, and the Sudanese people were harmed. Abiy Ahmed embraced this rebel militia, its aides, and its political incubator, but now we hope that the doors will be closed before it, and the two presidents look to the interest of the two countries, and certainly there is An agreement, especially since Mr. President Abiy Ahmed received a great reception. What is striking is that Al-Burhan and Abiy Ahmed were in the car alone as presidents. This indicates that there is something invisible to the Sudanese people, the media, and many people.
But this indicates that there is an agreement and a new era between the two presidents. This indicates that there is progress in relations and a closing of the door in Ethiopia to those who call themselves “progressive.”
Interrupting him: You mentioned that there was work done before this visit, and some, as you mentioned, were a surprise to him. What are the factors that led to this change in position by the Ethiopian Prime Minister?
There are changes in reality. We can see that the war has harmed both countries. There are common benefits between the two countries. There are outstanding issues between the two countries. There are wars here and there, even within Ethiopia in the Fano war and the Tigray war. There are many security threats on the borders. There are also threats to Sudan, but now in Sudan, the war is reaching its end, and Abu Ahmed and those who stand with this militia have become certain that the war is at its end and that the army will inevitably be victorious.
It was confirmed to the Ethiopian Prime Minister that this militia is waging this war against the Sudanese people and not against the government, and it is not intended for a coup, but rather for demographic change and many other things. The Ethiopian Prime Minister can note what this militia did in Sudan in terms of destroying the infrastructure and raping women. From the plundering of citizens’ property, from the destruction of civilian objects, from the destruction of document houses and museums, from the plundering, plundering, and displacement of citizens from their homes in Khartoum and other cities on the island and in Darfur, and the major reprehensible crimes committed by this militia. It was also confirmed to the Ethiopian Prime Minister that it was a war against the Sudanese people and a war to which mercenaries were brought from all countries, including Ethiopia, South Sudan, Chad, and others. It was completely confirmed to him that if this war continued in Sudan in this way, Ethiopia would not be spared, and therefore it was remedied at present, and it was completely confirmed. The repercussions of this war in Sudan on neighboring countries will be disturbing and dangerous.
All of this is what invited the Ethiopian Prime Minister to come to Port Sudan, but this visit was preceded by great diplomatic work, great security work, and great political work. There are several actors invisible to us who worked in this file.
There must be good neighborly relations with Ethiopia and with all neighboring countries. We want Ethiopia to be a friendly country with which we can exchange benefits and exchange interests.
How did the war in Sudan affect the countries of Eritrea and Ethiopia?
– Ethiopia in particular has a very fierce opposition and there may now be a harbinger of a confrontation between the Ethiopian government and the militias in the Amhara and Tigray regions on the borders bordering Sudan. This could be what disturbed the Ethiopian president and made him come to Sudan. The war is definitely now on its way to the Ethiopian borders, from Sennar to the Ethiopian borders. And from Gedaref to the Ethiopian border, from the Blue Nile to the Ethiopian border, and if this war expands, it will expand in this region. Therefore, if the borders here are disturbed, the disturbance will certainly increase inside Ethiopia, and it will be very easy for you to bring weapons, and it will be very easy for you to find an environment It affects the border region of these three countries, Ethiopia, Eritrea, and Sudan. The reality warns of widespread evil in this region, so the Ethiopian Prime Minister took the correct position at this stage to extinguish the fires here and there.
