Minnawi: They Did Not Even Agree to Condemn the RSF Crimes in El Fasher and Wad El Noura, and Therefore We Did Not Sign the Cairo Statement

The head of the Sudan Liberation Movement and governor of the Darfur region, Minni Arko Minnawi, explained that the reason he, along with Malik Agar, head of the People’s Liberation Movement North – Revolutionary Front, and Jibril Ibrahim, head of the Justice and Equality Movement, declined the signing of the final Cairo statement of the Conference of Political and Civil Forces, was due to the statement not condemning violations of the Rapid Support Forces.

Minnawi said in a special statement to Almohagig: We told them that as long as you do not want to condemn the Rapid Support for its crimes throughout Sudan, that you at least have to condemn what is happening in the El-Fasher city of genocide, hospital burning, and the deliberate targeting of population centers, and condemn the Wad Noura massacre.

Regarding the impact of Minnawi, Jibril, and Aqar not signing on the relationship with their partners in the Democratic Bloc who signed the final statement, Minnawi said that this will never affect their relationship with the partners in the Democratic Bloc, adding: I do not know if Cairo will continue its meetings with the political and civil forces or not, I hope at the same time that Egypt will continue its efforts.
