Al-Burhan Receives Credentials of New Spanish Ambassador to Sudan

Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, received today (Sunday) at the Republican Palace the credentials of the new Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to the Republic of Sudan, Ambassador Daniel Losada Miller.

The Sovereignty Council Chairman welcomed the new ambassador, wishing him success in carrying out his duties and expressing hopes that bilateral relations between the two countries would continue to progress and prosper in a manner that strengthens mutual cooperation.

For his part, the Spanish ambassador conveyed the greetings of the King of Spain to the Chairman of the Sovereignty Council and expressed his wishes for progress, prosperity, stability, and peace for the Sudanese people.

In a press statement, the ambassador affirmed his commitment to continuing to strengthen the bonds of friendship and cooperation between Sudan and Spain and harnessing them to serve the two peoples. He pointed to the longstanding and deep-rooted relations between the two countries, which are based on dialogue and mutual respect.

The ambassador also stressed Spain’s firm commitment to supporting Sudan’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, as well as efforts to achieve peace and stability in the country. “We stand with the Sudanese people in their aspirations for security, stability, and prosperity, in addition to building bridges of cooperation and friendship between the two countries,” he said.

He noted that Spain would work to support constructive efforts aimed at ending the war, alleviating humanitarian suffering, and paving the way toward a peaceful future.
