Sudanese Passport Mission Completes Preparations to Begin Services in Istanbul Next Monday

Technical and administrative preparations are continuing in Istanbul ahead of the launch of the Sudanese General Directorate of Passports and Civil Registry mission. Work to connect the network and technical systems is progressing, with ongoing coordination between the mission’s team and the Consulate General of the Republic of Sudan in Istanbul to ensure that all systems are fully operational and that services can be delivered to citizens efficiently and smoothly.

According to a senior diplomatic source contacted by Sudanhorizon, the mission is scheduled to begin its operations on Monday, August 10, 2026, when it will start receiving citizens to process passport issuance and renewal applications, as well as other official identification documents.

Sudan’s Consul General in Istanbul, Ambassador Osama Mahgoub, welcomed the arrival of the General Directorate of Passports and Civil Registry team, praising the significant efforts being made by mission members to complete the technical and technological preparations on schedule.

The Consul General urged members of the Sudanese community in Türkiye to take advantage of the mission’s presence by completing their applications and obtaining their official documents during the mission’s operational period. He affirmed that the Consulate General has mobilized all necessary resources to ensure the mission’s success and provide citizens with the best possible services.

Ambassador Osama Mahgoub emphasized that continued cooperation and coordination among the Consulate General, the Passports and Civil Registry Mission, and the Sudanese community in Istanbul reflects the government’s commitment to serving citizens abroad and facilitating their access to consular services and official documents.
