Sudanese Government Concerned Over Houthi Threats to Saudi Ports

The Sudanese government has expressed concern on Tuesday regarding statements issued by the Houthi group seeking to impose a naval blockade on Saudi ports.

The Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a press release that these statements constitute a direct threat to maritime navigation in the Red Sea and impede the security and economic interests of the littoral states.

The Ministry emphasized that the Houthi militia’s behavior could undermine security and stability in the Gulf region and the Red Sea littoral states, and would have serious repercussions for regional security.

In its statement, the Sudanese government called on the Houthi terrorist militia to refrain from taking any actions against Saudi Arabian ports or other ports in the Red Sea.

The Sudanese government affirmed its full support for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its right to take all necessary security measures to ensure the safety and security of operations at its ports, while also safeguarding Saudi national security. The Sudanese government also called on the regional and international community to exert further pressure and implement measures to combat the activities of terrorist militias in all countries and to work towards their complete eradication.
