New Secretary-General of the Transitional Sovereignty Council Assumes Office

The newly appointed Secretary-General of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant General Ahmed Saleh Abboud, officially assumed his duties on Monday, taking over the Secretariat from his predecessor, Lieutenant General Dr. Mohamed Al-Ghali Ali Yousif.
The outgoing Secretary-General expressed his appreciation for the cooperation and strong support he received from the staff of the Sovereignty Council Presidency, which enabled him to accomplish the Secretariat’s projects and objectives during his tenure. He wished his successor success in carrying out the responsibilities of the office and achieving its goals.
Al-Ghali reviewed the challenges and difficulties the Secretariat had faced in previous years, particularly during the war, urging staff members to maintain the same spirit of dedication, perseverance, and patience in completing tasks that contribute to strengthening the country’s resilience, unity, and stability.
For his part, the new Secretary-General praised the significant achievements made by Lieutenant General Al-Ghali and pledged to continue implementing the projects initiated under his predecessor’s leadership while working to overcome the existing challenges. He also expressed confidence in the ability of the Sovereignty Council’s staff to continue advancing the institution’s work.
