Sudanese and Russian Ambassadors in Asmara Meet

The Sudanese Ambassador to Eritrean, Osama Ahmed Abdel-Bari, held important talks on Monday with his Russian counterpart at the Russian Federation Embassy, within the framework of strengthening bilateral relations and developing mechanisms for joint diplomatic coordination.
A well-informed diplomatic source described the meeting as “characterized by a positive, constructive, and friendly atmosphere, reflecting the keenness of both sides to elevate the level of cooperation between their respective missions in the Eritrean capital.”
According to the same source, the meeting addressed the importance of strengthening communication and coordination channels between the two diplomatic missions in Asmara, which would contribute to the exchange of visions and ideas, and the unification of positions on issues of common interest, especially in light of the rapidly evolving challenges facing the region.
In the same context, the two ambassadors exchanged views on a number of current regional issues in the Horn of Africa and the Red Sea region, where they emphasized the need to support efforts aimed at achieving stability and enhancing regional security, respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states, and addressing conflicts through peaceful means and constructive dialogue.
The importance of coordinating positions in regional and international forums was also emphasized, as this would enhance opportunities for achieving peace and sustainable development in the region.
The Sudanese Ambassador in Asmara expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome and hospitality extended by his Russian counterpart, affirming the Sudanese Embassy’s commitment in Asmara to strengthening cooperation and coordination with the Embassy of the Russian Federation in a way that serves mutual interests and supports efforts to achieve stability in the region.
