Sudanese Artist Makes Headlines at Khartoum Airport

Sudanese Singer, Majzoub Onsa, made headlines this Sunday afternoon when he appeared on the tarmac of a Sudan Airways plane that landed for the first time at Khartoum International Airport in almost three years, after the outbreak of the spurred by the Rapid Support Forces militia.

Onsa carried his oud and sang his most famous song, “You Are Dear to Me, My Homeland-Azzezun Anta Ya-watani,” to the passengers on board and the large crowds gathered around the airport, celebrating the plane’s arrival. The renowned artist’s gesture quickly went viral on social media, garnering thousands of likes and comments.
