US and Saudi Foreign Ministers Discuss Iran, Sudan, and Gaza Over the Phone

The US Department of State said in a brief press release that Secretary of State Marco Rubio held a phone conversation on Wednesday with his Saudi counterpart, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud. The two ministers “discussed issues related to Iran, Syria, Gaza, and Sudan, among other matters.”
The statement did not elaborate on the nature of the issues discussed. Still, diplomatic sources told Sudanhorizon that these represent the region’s most pressing files, in which the United States and its allies are engaged in coordinated efforts to defuse crises.
