UNICEF Donates a Medical Oxygen Plant to Omdurman Teaching Hospital

The Khartoum State Ministry of Health on Wednesdayt received an oxygen plant with a production capacity of 300 cylinders per day, as donated by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) to Omdurman Teaching Hospital.

The handover ceremony was attended by Dr. Fath Al-Rahman Muhammad Al-Amin, Director General of the Khartoum State Ministry of Health and Acting Minister; Dr. Al-Sheikh Kamal Al-Din, Deputy Director General of Omdurman Hospital, Siddiq Al-Amin, Administrative Director; Engineer Abu Al-Qasim Ali Abu Al-Qasim, representative of Injaz Company; and a number of hospital staff and engineers.

Dr. Fath Al-Rahman Muhammad Al-Amin expressed appreciaion for the the donation, emphasizing that medical oxygen is a vital and essential service for emergency departments and a lifeline for patients.

He noted that the plant will contribute to providing a high-quality and consistent service, especially given that Omdurman Teaching Hospital boasts a rare team of consultants and also plays a role in training students from several universities.

The Director General expressed his gratitude to all partners supporting the health sector and the Sovereign Council, commending the support and efforts of the Governor of Khartoum State, Ahmed Osman Hamza, in rehabilitating the hospital after the damage it sustained.

He also acknowledged the role of UNICEF, represented by Dr. Iman Karar, in supporting the health sector, praising the Ministry’s Department of Organizations and all hospital staff.

For his part, Dr. Sheikh Kamal El-Din, Deputy Director General of Omdurman Teaching Hospital, stated that the arrival of the oxygen plant is a true asset for the health sector and a significant achievement that will contribute to enhancing the hospital’s readiness and improving the quality of services provided. He emphasized that the plant’s production capacity of 300 cylinders per day will cover the hospital’s needs and contribute to a stable oxygen supply.
