UN Secretary-General Calls Sudan’s PM to Discuss Situation in El Fasher

New York – Sudanhorizon
UN Secretary-General António Guterres has made a phone call with Sudanese Prime Minister Kamil Idris on Tuesday, according to UN platforms.
During the call, the two sides discussed the protection of civilians and the difficult humanitarian situation in El Fasher, North Darfur State.
The UN News page on Facebook reported that Guterres spoke by phone with Kamil Idris to discuss the humanitarian situation, the protection of civilians, and the delivery of aid.
It indicated that the two officials discussed the difficult humanitarian situation in El Fasher in light of the ongoing siege and the shelling to which the city has been subjected.
Meanwhile, the World Food Program said that time was running out and options are dwindling for 300,000 families trapped inside El Fasher, who are living in dire conditions of hunger.

The UN program called for an urgent humanitarian truce to deliver aid.
The severe shortage of goods has forced thousands of civilians to eat umbaze – animal feed – to survive.
The Rapid Support Forces militia obstructs humanitarian aid from reaching those most in need, targeting aid trucks with bombs, looting, and burning.
