Trump Adviser Discusses Rome Meeting with Déby and Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister

Senior Adviser to the U.S. President for African Affairs, Mossad Boulos, said he held a “constructive discussion” with Chadian President Mahamat Idriss Déby and Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister Waleed Al-Khuraiji on the conflict in Sudan and stability in the Sahel region.
In a post on his official X (formerly Twitter) account on Friday, Boulos stated that the United States “is working to support peace and stability to ensure a more prosperous future for the peoples of the region.”
He added that he also held a bilateral meeting with Al-Khuraiji to discuss ways to enhance efforts toward conflict resolution and promote peace across the region.
“Regarding Sudan,” Boulos noted, “we are working through the Quad Group to take urgent and coordinated action to restore peace and stability and end the suffering of the Sudanese people.”
Meanwhile, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on its official X account that Deputy Foreign Minister Waleed Al-Khuraiji held an official meeting in Rome on Thursday with Chadian President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno and U.S. Presidential Adviser for African Affairs Mossad Boulos.
According to the statement, the meeting reviewed “key regional and international developments of mutual concern,” and discussed efforts to enhance security and peace in Sudan and to resolve regional conflicts in a way that promotes stability and prosperity.
