Port Sudan – Sudanhorizon

The Ministry of Digital Transformation and Communications on Thursday announced the official launching of thre “Sudanese Cybersecurity Authority.”

The ministry has stated that “Today we announce the launch of the Sudanese Cybersecurity Authority, as a pivotal institutional step within the process of building an integrated national cybersecurity system in Sudan.”

It added that this launch represents a transition from fragmented treatment to institutional governance, through unifying policies, organizing roles, and enhancing the protection of digital infrastructure and vital services, according to an approach based on risk management and internationally approved standards.

The Ministry explained that the Cybersecurity Authority is coming to lead this dossier at the national level, by developing policies and regulatory frameworks, raising the level of compliance, and building national capabilities, in a way that supports the stability of services, enhances the confidence of partners, and enables national competencies, especially the youth group, to participate effectively in the digital economy.

It pinpointed that this path confirms Sudan’s commitment to building a safe, regulated and developable digital space that forms the basis for responsible digital transformation and strengthens the country’s position within regional and international systems.
