Sudanese-Saudi Discussions on Mining Investment Opportunities

The Ministry of Minerals discussed investment opportunities with a delegation from the Saudi Gold Mining Refinery, a subsidiary of the Sulaiman Al-Othaim Group. The two sides also reviewed the follow-up on the implementation of previous agreements in the mining sector, with arrangements for signing new deals.
The Ministry said in a statement on Saturday, that the discussions, which took place in Port Sudan and were chaired by the Undersecretary of the Ministry, Dr. Hind Siddiq Adam, addressed the results of the understandings reached during the Riyadh Conference in January 2025, in addition to ways to expand technical and financial cooperation in the mining sector.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry affirmed the government’s keenness to strengthen partnerships with major Saudi companies, most notably the Saudi Gold Mining Refinery, given its capabilities that qualify it to contribute to the development of the mining industry in Sudan.
She indicated the Ministry’s readiness to provide all necessary facilities to enable the company to start and grow its investments in the country.
