Sudanese PM Says Khartoum Airport to Receive Air Flights Soon

Prime Minister Kamel Idris inspected the situation at Khartoum International Airport on Tuesday, in the presence of the Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, Ali Mohamed Ali; the Director General of Sudan Airports Company Limited, Al-Sir Al-Khatim Babiker Al-Tayeb; the Director General of Khartoum Airport Administration, Ayman Afifi; and the Head of the Khartoum Airport Rehabilitation Team, Major General Mubarak Osman.

The Prime Minister and his accompanying delegation toured the various sections of the airport, where he reviewed the ongoing rehabilitation and improvement efforts and examined the future development plan.

He described the rehabilitation of Khartoum International Airport as a major success achieved within a short period of time, and also saluted the Chairman of the Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan.

Idris praised the efforts of the dedicated soldiers who worked tirelessly to rehabilitate the airport and expressed his happiness and reassurance at the completion of all readiness details for airport operations.

Kamel Idris called on citizens abroad and in the states to return voluntarily and by choice to their historic capital, Khartoum, and to their homes, offering reassurances in this regard that air traffic will commence in the coming days.

The Prime Minister renewed his thanks to all those involved in the rehabilitation of the airport, affirming the commitment of the “Government of Hope” to the continued improvement and development of Khartoum International Airport.

For his part, the Director General of Sudan Airports Company Limited, Lieutenant General Engineer and Advisor Al-Sir Al-Khatim Babiker Al-Tayeb, expressed his happiness with the Prime Minister’s visit, confirming that it serves as a motivation to continue improving and developing performance, and pledged to provide all capabilities in service of the Sudanese people.
