Sudanese Government Condemns Militia Bombing of Civilian n Hospital, Killing 10 Medical Staff

At least ten medical and administrative staff members, including the Director General of Al-Jabalain Hospital, Hamid Suleiman, were killed, and 22 other civilians sustained injuries, following a bombing carried out by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia on Thursday at the hospital in Al-Jabalain city, White Nile State.
The attack drew condemnation from the Sudanese government, which reiterated its call for a clear international condemnation and the designation of the militia as a terrorist group.
The attack resulted in widespread destruction of the operating theater complex, the accident and emergency sections, and medical equipment of the only health facility in the region.
The Federal Ministry of Health stated that among the ten who were killed, was the hospital’s Director General, who died while performing surgery. The Ministry emphasized that this continued targeting constitutes a flagrant violation of international norms and laws.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation also condemned the attack on Al-Jabalain Hospital, noting in a statement that it coincided with the launch of a children’s immunization campaign within the hospital, revealing the militia’s deliberate intent to inflict maximum casualties among civilian population.
The Ministry also condemned the concurrent attacks targeting civilian facilities in Rabak, including medical warehouses and fuel depots, calling on the international community and the United Nations to designate the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) as a terrorist organization and hold accountable its regional and international backers who supply it with advanced drones.
The Ministry affirmed that the Sudanese government will continue its efforts to protect civilians and safeguard state institutions, and will work with international partners to end these crimes and achieve justice for the victims.
