Sudanese Army Announces Military Aircraft Crash After Takeoff from Air Base

The Sudanese Armed Forces have announced the crash of a military aircraft shortly after takeoff from an airbase north of the capital, Khartoum.
In a statement on the official Facebook page of the Sudanese Armed Forces, Army Spokesperson Brigadier General Nabil Abdullah said:
“One of our aircraft crashed during takeoff from Wadi Sayidna Airport on Tuesday evening. We mourn the loss of several martyrs, both military personnel and civilians, while several others sustained injuries. The wounded have been taken for medical treatment, and firefighting teams have successfully contained the blaze at the crash site in Iskan, Block 75.”
Earlier on Tuesday evening, medical sources at Al-Nau Hospital in Omdurman confirmed that they had received several injured individuals who were rushed for medical care.
Meanwhile, media reports widely circulated news of the military aircraft crash, with some sources stating that among the martyrs was Major General Bahr Ahmed Bahr. However, the official statement from the Sudanese Army’s spokesperson did not disclose any names of the casualties or injured individuals.
