Sudan Welcomes Rising Recognition of Palestine

The Sudanese government welcomed the increasing recognition of Palestine as an independent sovereign state, considering this unified international stance as confirmation of the world’s rejection of the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories, condemnation of the occupation’s crimes against the Palestinian people, and its denial of their right to security, freedom, and a dignified life.

A statement issued by the Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday said that the recognition of Palestine by 157 out of 193 states reflects the awareness of the overwhelming majority of the international community of the dangers posed by the continued Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories to international and regional peace and stability.

Sudan, according to the statement, reaffirmed its support for all sincere efforts undertaken by members of the international community to enable the Palestinian people to establish their free, independent state on their national soil—stressing this as a legitimate right that cannot be denied.
