Arms Still Flowing From UAE to Darfur Via Sudan Neighbours

Port Sudan – Sudanhorizon
Sudan’s Interior Minister, Lieutenant General Babiker Samra Mustafa, said the Sudan holds the international community responsible for the continued flow of advanced weapons into the Darfur region, asserting that silence regarding the countries supplying and supporting the rebel militias constitutes “a crime against the Sudanese people.”
During his meeting with a delegation from the UN Panel of Experts established pursuant to Resolution 1591, the Minister explained that the UAE is the primary supporter and importer of these weapons, which pass through Libya (via Haftar’s forces), Chad, and other African ports, in blatant violation of the arms embargo imposed by the UN Security Council on the region.
The Minister emphasized that this ongoing military supply is the direct cause of the escalating grave violations against civilians, the most recent of which was the ” Fasher massacre.”
The minister has called on the UN panel to present the facts objectively in its upcoming report and clearly identify the countries involved before the world.
