Sudan: Unlimited UAE Support Encouraged the Militia to Commit Atrocities
Geneva – Sudanhorizon
On Saturday, Sudan’s Permanent Representative to Geneva, Hassan Hamid Hassan, debriefed the Deputy High Commissioner for Human Rights, Nada Al-Nashif, and her senior staff from the Africa and Sudan section at the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights on the latest human rights developments in the country.
The representative reviewed the brutal crimes perpetrated by the terrorist militia since October 26 in and around El Fasher city.
He emphasized that the international community’s inaction in taking decisive measures against the militia since the outbreak of its rebellion, as well as its turning a blind eye to the UAE, which sponsors and provides it with unlimited support in the form of weapons, military equipment, and mercenaries, gave the militia the green light to commit all these horrific atrocities.
The representative also detailed the ethnically motivated killings of civilians, including the mass killings of patients, their companions, and medical staff at the Saudi Maternity Hospital in El Fasher.
He also detailed similar atrocities committed by the militia in the city of Bara, emphasizing that this was the militia’s modus operandi in every city they had overrun.
He indicated that what was happening in El Fasher was the same scenario the militia had previously implemented in El Geneina, Khartoum, and Gezira.
