Sudan to Participate in the Arab International Football Championship in Qatar

The President of the Sudanese Football Association received an official invitation from the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) to participate with the national team in the second edition of the Arab Cup in Qatar, scheduled for December 1st to 18th, 2025.

The letter which was sent by the FIFA President Infantino, and received by the President of the Sudanese Football Association, Moatasem Jaafar, stated: “It is my great pleasure to extend an invitation to your national men’s national team to participate in the 2025 Arab Cup, which will be held in Qatar at the end of the year.”

He added: “Following the resounding success of the first edition of the FIFA Arab Cup in 2021, we are delighted to see the return of this prestigious tournament that unites the entire Arab world, with the final stage scheduled to take place from December 1 to 18. The passion and enthusiasm shown by fans across the region, the Arab world, and beyond made the first edition truly special, and we are eagerly looking forward to recapturing that spirit once again, as teams from two continents, bound together by a shared set of values and culture, but also a genuine love and passion for football, travel to Qatar.”

He concluded: “The tournament will undoubtedly showcase the best of Arab football on and off the pitch—just as it did four years ago—providing a valuable opportunity for world-class football in state-of-the-art stadiums and best-in-class football facilities, reminding us all of the great moments of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, the best yet. Mr. President, I look forward to receiving your confirmation of participation and welcoming you and your team to Qatar for what promises to be an exceptional celebration of Arab football.”
