The agreement was signed on behalf of the Ministry of Energy and Oil by Eng. Mohammed Awad Al-Khair, Director of Bashayer Pipeline Company (BAPCO), and on behalf of the Russian side by Nikolai Kuznetsov, Director General of the Institute.
The memorandum signed between the two sides aims to develop cooperation in the field of specifications and standards in the energy and oil sectors, conformity assessment in related topics, and commercial activities in the oil and gas industry.
The signing ceremony was attended by Minister of Energy Eng. Moatasem Ibrahim, Sudan’s Ambassador to the Russian Federation Mohamed Al-Ghazali Siraj, and a number of representatives from the Sudanese Ministry of Energy.
According to the agreement, the two sides will form committees to implement the required standards and international conformity assessment in the energy and oil sectors.
The relevant committee at the Ministry of Energy and Oil will also follow up with the Russian side to prepare proposals on issues of mutual interest related to the development of conformity standards and standards in the oil and gas industry.
This signing is seen as a positive step toward Russia’s entry into the development of standards systems, as well as the need for cooperation and communication with Russian technicians, particularly in the areas of training engineers and technicians in this important field.
