Sudan Secure Double Victory at Chess Olympiad for Men and Women

Sudan’s men’s and women’s national chess teams returned to winning ways with two important victories in the fifth round of the 46th Chess Olympiad, being held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, after both teams stumbled in the fourth round.
The men’s team delivered a strong performance against Guam, securing a 3-1 victory with three wins and one loss. The result confirmed the team’s ability to recover from the previous round’s setback and quickly return to winning ways.
In the women’s competition, Sudan’s players showed strong fighting spirit against Laos, securing a 2.5-1.5 victory after recording two wins, one draw, and one loss.
The double victory provides Sudan’s delegation with a major morale boost ahead of the upcoming rounds and reflects the teams’ determination and ability to recover and return confidently to competition at this major global event.
