Sudan Reviews Ways for Developing Cooperation with Other Countries in Oil and Electricity Domains

Sudan’s Minister of Energy and Petroleum, Engineer Al-Mu’tasim Ahmed Ibrahim, revealed efforts to develop joint cooperation with several countries in the oil and electricity sectors.
Engineer Al-Mu’tasim Ibrahim met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Muhi Al-Din Salem, in Khartoum on Wednesday to review joint cooperation projects between Sudan and other countries in the oil and electricity sectors.
A press release issued by the Ministry of Energy stated that the Minister explained that his ministry had received requests from some Turkish oil companies to enter oil blocks currently devoid of petroleum activity.
He added that developing cooperation would enable Sudan to benefit from its resources, and that Sudan enjoys cooperative relations with China, India, Malaysia, and South Sudan.
For his part, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation expressed his readiness to advance cooperation initiatives, noting that coordination contributes to achieving and completing economic projects, especially since the oil and electricity sectors have strategic partnerships with major countries.
