Sudan Participates in OPEC+ Meetings in Azerbaijan

Sudan participated in the meetings of the Joint Ministerial Monitoring Committee (JMMC) of the OPEC+ Charter, held in the Azerbaijani capital, Baku. The Sudanese delegation was headed by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum, Ali Abdel Rahman Mohamed, and included the Director of Exploration at the Ministry of Petroleum, Al-Sadiq Mohamed, and the Sudanese Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Anas Al-Tayeb Al-Jilani.
The meetings discussed developments in global oil markets and ways to enhance cooperation and coordination among member states to contribute to the stability of energy markets and support joint partnerships.
On the sidelines of the meetings, the Sudanese delegation held discussions with several Azerbaijani companies operating in the oil and exploration sectors. They presented promising investment opportunities in Sudan in the oil, gas, and electricity sectors, as well as projects for the reconstruction of the Khartoum Refinery, oil infrastructure, natural gas, alternative energy, and solar energy projects. The delegation emphasized Sudan’s keenness to attract Azerbaijani investments to support development and reconstruction efforts.
