Sudan Participates in New York’s Global Forum on Science, Technology, and Innovation

Sudan’s representative at the 11th Multi-Stakeholder Forum on Science, Technology, and Innovation, organized by the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), Asrar Ahmed Al-Siddiq, stated that despite the challenges, Sudan is working diligently to build a resilient and inclusive digital future.
Addressing the forum, the Sudanese diplomat highlighted the most significant achievements of the past period, summarizing them in several key areas. Regarding the institutional framework, she noted the establishment of specialized bodies for data, artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and cybersecurity.
In the area of infrastructure and growth, she explained that the “Baladna” platform has been linked to more than 50 government entities, processing over 100,000 transactions in the first quarter of this year. As for legislative progress, she mentioned the finalization of robust legal frameworks for cybersecurity, data protection, and the adoption of artificial intelligence. She emphasized that all these successes were achieved thanks to the effective leadership of the Minister of Digital Transformation and Communications, Ahmed Dardiri Ghandour.
The Sudanese representative at the forum stressed that Sudan will remain committed to global partnerships, particularly in emerging technologies, where Sudanese youth are leading the way in sustainable development, and that Sudan is fully prepared to cooperate and exchange experiences to build a fairer digital world.
