Sudan: India to Work on Rebuilding Oil and Electricity Sectors

The Minister of Energy and Petroleum, Dr. Muhiuddin Naeem Mohamed Saeed, revealed an agreement with the Indian company Vitec for the manufacture of transformers.
The agreement stipulates, according to a press statement issued by the Ministry of Oil on Wednesday, sending a technical team to Sudan to establish a workshop to maintain maintainable transformers and provide spare parts.
This came on the sidelines of the Minister of Oil’s visit to India, which he is visiting to participate in the activities of the Indian Energy Week.
The statement explained that discussions were held with the company’s General Manager, Murugesan Umapathi, about the possibility of the company’s contribution to the reconstruction of Sudan, especially in the field of electricity.
For his part, the General Manager of the company, Murugesan Umapathi, confirmed their readiness to contribute to the reconstruction of Sudan in the following areas: the electricity sector, especially in the field of providing electricity transformers.
It is expected that the Minister of Oil will meet with the Director of the Indian company ONGC, which operates in the oil sector, and is one of the companies that contributed to the extraction of Sudanese oil.
