Sudan Geology: Building Stable Work Environment
Khartoum – Sudanhorizon
The Director General of the Sudanese General Authority for Geological Research, Ahmed Haroun Al-Toumi, has pledged that 2026 would be a year of true launch towards the Authority’s major goals and the continuation of its national and scientific role in serving all parts of Sudan.
The Director has expressed hope that the new year would be a year of security, stability, and growth, and that the journey of giving and achievement would continue under a unified Sudan.
He announced that the coming phase represents a pivotal turning point in the Authority’s journey, coinciding with national victories, the return of normal life to Khartoum State, and the lifting of the siege on the cities of Dilling and Kadugli.
In a press statement on Wednesday, the Director General said that Sudan is moving progressively towards completing the liberation of its lands from the defilement of the rebel militia and its supporters, noting that these victories strengthen the climate of stability and open wider horizons for work and production.
Al-Toumi explained that the Authority enters 2026 with a clear vision based on the principle of “one hand building and the other carrying a gun,” embodying the integration of the national development effort with the struggle for dignity.
He emphasized that the priorities of the new budget include creating a suitable and stable work environment in all units of the Authority, continuing the comprehensive geological survey project for Sudan, and commencing the implementation of the Authority’s reference laboratory project to localize the geochemical analyses necessary for scientific research. Other priorities, he said, include enhancing job satisfaction, improving institutional performance, increasing production and productivity, and making an effective contribution to the national coffer.
