Sudan Doctors Network: RSF Liquidate Medical Doctor in El Fasher

The Sudan Doctors Network announced on Wednesday that a force affiliated with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia has liquidated a medical doctor in El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur region in western Sudan.

In a press statement issued today, the network condemned “in the strongest terms the execution of Dr. Adam Ibrahim Ismail in El Fasher by the Rapid Support Forces, in a systematic continuation of targeting medical personnel and humanitarian workers.”

The statement added: “A force affiliated with the Rapid Support Forces arrested the doctor in El Fasher after storming the city before summarily executing him, in flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and all values and norms that criminalize attacks on medical personnel.”

The network held “the leadership of the Rapid Support Forces fully responsible for this heinous crime,” calling on the United Nations and the World Health Organization to take immediate action to protect doctors and healthcare workers and to hold the perpetrators of these repeated violations accountable.
