Sudan Bans Import of Fava Beans

Sudan’s Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation, Ismat Qurashi, has issued Ministerial Decree No. 42, banning the import of “Egyptian fava beans” from all countries.
The decision comes in implementation of directives issued by Prime Minister Kamil Idris aimed at supporting Sudan’s national economy.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation stated that the decision is part of government measures designed to regulate imports, protect producers, and encourage local production.
