Sports Festival for Persons with Disabilities in Kassala State

The Council for Persons with Disabilities in Kassala State, in cooperation with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), organized a celebration of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities on Tuesday, under the slogan (Permanent Peace… Permanent Participation), amidst a large official and popular presence.
The celebration included a massive sports festival with sports games for persons with disabilities, including athletics for the physically disabled, popular games for mentally disabled children, five-a-side football, a race for the deaf, a bell ball, and volleyball for young deaf women; the festival activities will continue until Thursday at the Kassala Industrial School Stadium.
The festival kicked off with a match between Kassala Locality and Omdurman Locality in the deaf bell ball race, which ended with Omdurman Locality winning over Kassala, while Bahri Locality achieved victory over Khartoum Locality.
In the javelin results, player “Heba Al-Sir” won first place with 8 meters, while player “Aisha Idris” won second place with 7 meters, while player “Atra Omar” came in third place with 6 meters, and player “Amal Mohammed” won fourth place with 3 meters.
In the shot put results, player “Jabril Qaboush” won first place, while player “Khaled Jabril” came in second place and player “Hafez Mohammed” came in third.
As for the discus results, player “Hafez Mohammed Ali” won first place, while player “Mohamed Ahmed” came in second place and player “Tariq Mohammed” came in third.
The festival activities will continue with many competitions hosted in the Industrial School Stadium in Kassala.
