Sovereignty Council Denies Reports of Negotiations with the Militia in Washington

The Transitional Sovereignty Council has firmly denied the reports circulated by some media outlets and social media platforms claiming that direct or indirect negotiations are taking place in Washington between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the rebels.

In a statement issued on Thursday night, the Council stressed that these reports are completely unfounded. It clarified that the State’s position regarding any dialogue or settlement remains firm and unambiguous — namely, commitment to a national solution that preserves the sovereignty, unity and stability of the country and safeguards the rights of the Sudanese people.
