Smuggling Shipment of 176,000 Captagon Pills Foile

The Red Sea State Anti-Smuggling Forces, in coordination with the General Intelligence Service, have seized 176,000 Captagon pills.

The operation resulted in the arrest of a suspect found in possession of the shipment, which was concealed inside the spare tire of a truck he was driving on the national highway towards one of the eastern states.

The Minister of Finance, Dr. Jibril Ibrahim, accompanied by the Governor of the Red Sea State, Lieutenant General Mustafa Mohamed Nour, inspected the massive seizure at the Anti-Smuggling Department headquarters in the Al-Transit neighborhood of Port Sudan.

The Minister praised the high level of vigilance and professionalism demonstrated by the Anti-Smuggling and Customs forces, emphasizing that this seizure represents genuine protection for the minds of Sudanese youth and for the national economy.

He explained that the state is committed to supporting these agencies and upgrading their oversight capabilities to thwart those who seek to undermine the country.

For his part, the Director General of Customs Forces, Lieutenant General Salah Ahmed Ibrahim, reviewed the details of the operation that resulted in the seizure of the smuggled shipment, noting that these efforts are part of a comprehensive strategy to combat trans-boarder crimes.

The seized narcotics were subsequently destroyed in accordance with established legal and environmental procedures.
