Seven Sudanese Travel Companies and Agencies Approved to Operate this Umrah season

Port Sudan – Sudanhorizon
The Supreme Council for Hajj and Umrah in Sudan announced the approval of seven Sudanese travel companies and agencies to operate during the 1447 AH Umrah season. This approval came after they met the necessary qualification requirements and financial guarantees. This step aims to regulate Umrah operations and safeguard the rights of Sudanese pilgrims.
The Secretary-General of the Council, Sami Al-Rashid, confirmed that the Council has contacted Saudi authorities to approve these companies as major sponsors, marking the official commencement of operations.
Al-Rashid stated that the financial guarantees provided by the approved companies represent a strong barrier to protect the rights of pilgrims, prevent any manipulation or negligence in service provision, and enhance Sudanese citizens’ confidence in state institutions and the private sector. He stressed that the next phase will witness strict measures against any company or agency operating outside the regulatory framework, confirming that agencies that have been monitored in recent weeks and are operating irregularly will be subject to penalties in accordance with the Umrah regulations.
The Secretary-General revealed the formation of a higher committee comprising representatives from the relevant authorities and regular forces. This committee will oversee Umrah operations on the ground and electronically, ensuring their smooth flow throughout the year. He indicated that the 1447 AH Umrah season will be different in terms of discipline and oversight, and is part of a strategic plan aimed at reforming the Umrah environment, preventing violations, and ensuring reasonable prices that protect the rights of pilgrims.
Al-Rasheed called on citizens wishing to perform Umrah to deal only with approved agencies, which will be announced successively on the Council’s official website and media platforms, to preserve their rights and ensure a safe and organized spiritual experience.
