Khartoum – Sudanhorizon
The Director General of the Savings and Social Development Bank, Muzammil Abdelrahman, confirmed that the bank has begun financing a number of reconstruction projects across several sectors.
Speaking during a visit to several of the bank’s branches in Al Jazirah State, Abdelrahman said the bank has provided financing to the agricultural sector, including funding for tractors and agricultural machinery that were lost by farmers due to the destruction caused by the Rapid Support Forces after their entry into the state.
He explained that the Savings Bank, which operates through 67 branches and agencies across all states, has now begun providing microfinance to more than 10,000 projects in Khartoum State, as part of government efforts to create a suitable environment for the return of citizens to the capital.
Abdelrahman noted that the bank’s 2026 strategy aims to provide financing to 250,000 families through its microfinance program under facilitated and flexible conditions.
The bank’s director general concluded a visit to Al Jazirah State the day before yesterday, accompanied by several department directors, as part of preparations to provide financing for productive projects during the current year.
