SAF Repels Drone Attacks in Sennar and Damazin

The Sennar and Damazin cities in southeastern Sudan, were attacked on Tuesday evening by drones likely belonging to the Rapid Support Forces militia.

This led to a power outage in large parts of the two areas and sparked panic among resident civilians.

Eyewitnesses said that a suicide drone exploded near the Sennar Dam, causing a loud explosion that was heard throughout the city. Sudanese Armed Forces ground defenses fired heavy anti-aircraft missiles to repel the attack.

In the city of Damazin, the capital of Blue Nile State, local residents reported that suicide drones targeted the electricity transformer station west of the Roseires Dam, causing a complete power outage and plunging the city into complete darkness.

The Fourth Infantry Division in Damazin stated that the situation is under full control after the air defense forces engaged and shot down the hostile drones.

In a statement issued Tuesday evening, it stated that the sounds heard were the result of anti-aircraft missiles fired against the drones, adding, that the situation was now under control and there have been no casualties or property damage.
