SAF Repels Attack in Blue Nile and Shoot Down Drones Targeting Damazin

Damazin – Sudanhorizon

The Sudanese Armed Forces repelled an attack launched today, Saturday, by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia and Joseph Tuka’s forces at two locations in the Blue Nile Region. Air defenses also intercepted RSF drones targeting the city of Damazin, which managed to destroy civilian facilities, including the home of the regional governor.

The command of the 4th Infantry Division in Damazin said in a statement that it had dealt a decisive blow to the RSF militia and Joseph Tuka’s forces in the areas of “Minza” and “Basharkad” in the eastern sector of the Blue Nile Region, during a specialized operation that inflicted heavy losses in personnel and equipment.

The command confirmed that it had thwarted the rebel movements and blocked their attempt to advance toward the army’s positions. It said the forces succeeded in foiling the hostile movements, destroying a number of vehicles and pieces of equipment, and forcing the attacking elements to retreat under heavy fire.

Early Saturday morning, the city of Damazin came under a drone attack. Blue Nile Region Governor Ahmed Al-Omda Badi said on his Facebook account that the RSF targeted his home and civilian sites in Damazin with suicide drones, confirming that the army’s air defenses had intercepted the attack.

The governor stressed: “This targeting will only make us stronger, more steadfast, and more determined. It will not deter us from continuing the struggle and defending the homeland, and working to cleanse every inch of Sudanese territory of rebellion and aggression.”

The governor called on all citizens of the Blue Nile Region to unite, remain cohesive, and stand together, stressing that the current stage requires putting the national interest first, avoiding division and discord, and strengthening the spirit of solidarity and responsibility to protect the region and its gains.
